§ 5 · Fast Track

Half the ladder is for sale

Rank is purchasable up to Manager and no further. Three steps or one bundle, paid in $VEST and burned in full on receipt — a pure supply sink. Director and above are taken with Performance Points, a reinvest and time served — and the corner office is only ever taken by contest.

Last rank for sale
Manager

Exactly half the ladder. Director, VP, SVP and the six corner offices cannot be bought at any price.

Bundle
1,000,000$VEST

Intern to Manager in one transaction, priced at ten hires. The same three rungs bought one at a time come to 1,100,000.

Burned per bundle
1,000,000$VEST

Every $VEST paid for a rank is burned outright — none of it goes to the payroll pool or the treasury. Buying seniority only shrinks supply.

Manager → Director
1,050points

What a Fast-Tracked badge owes to leave Manager. A badge that earned the rung owes 700.

Each step is three times the one below it, so the Manager chair is expensive even to a wallet that arrives with capital. The $VEST is pulled from the buyer, not from the badge's own wallet.

Note on the arithmetic

Unreconciled

Concept v2 §5.1 prints four prices and states in the same paragraph that the bundle carries no discount. The four prices say otherwise: the three steps bought in sequence come to 1,100,000 $VEST, and the bundle is 1,000,000.

Both figures ship as written, here and in the contract. Quietly adjusting either one to match the other would be inventing a price, so the gap is stated instead.

Conditions of sale

v2 §5.2
  1. 01

The seat has to be free

Manager is capped at 216 chairs across the collection. On a full floor the purchase is refused. Money does not create a desk.

  2. 02

    24 hours between steps

One rung a day. The bundle is the single purchase that ignores the cooldown, and it arms the cooldown behind itself, so nothing chains off it.

  3. 03

    Tenure restarts at purchase

Time served on the rung you bought runs from the moment you pay. Nothing carries up from the ranks below, so Director is still 21 days out.

  4. 04

    No Performance Points are granted

The purchase moves the rank and nothing else. Every point for the next rung is still earned on the Assignment Board.

  5. 05

    The mark rides the tokenId

Fast-Tracked is written to the badge, not to the wallet. It clears on transfer, along with the rank and the points.

  6. 06

Manager → Director costs 50% more

1,050 Performance Points instead of 700. Fast-Tracked badges only, and on that one rung only.

The mark

Earned

Fast-Tracked

A bought rank draws the badge frame in the skin orange instead of the paper white, and the token carries the trait Fast-Tracked: Yes. The difference is on the artwork, not in a footnote.

It is not permanent. The mark belongs to the tokenId, and it clears with the rank the moment the badge changes hands.

  • VP1,400 pts · 30d
  • SVP2,600 pts · 45d
  • CEO5,000 pts · 60d

Points banked on the Assignment Board, a reinvest of 15–30% of the badge's own stock, and the time served. The corner office is not promoted into at all — it is only ever taken by contest.

If you sell

Severance25% of spend
Vests over7 days

A Fast Track purchase is the only $VEST an employee now sinks into their own rank, so it is the only thing severance has to return. Transfer the badge and 25% of what you spent is booked in the employer's stock, vesting linearly. The rank, the points and the mark all go to the next holder as an Intern with nothing.

Buying

A purchase is one transaction from the badge's own desk. The $VEST is pulled from your wallet, so the token needs an approval first, and a badge under review cannot buy.

Open my desk

Why it exists

Supply leaves

Half of every purchase is burned. One bundle removes 1,000,000 $VEST from circulation in a single transaction.

A late entry

Someone who arrives three seasons in can buy the middle of the ladder in an afternoon instead of replaying three seasons of assignments.

The top stays shut

Director and above are earned or contested at any price. That is the only thing that keeps the ranks above Manager worth holding.

The record is public

Two employees at the same rank are not the same asset, and the badge says which is which without anyone having to check a history.
